London, 24 October 2026 – Brent crude rose about 3.5% on Friday and briefly moved above US$117 a barrel, its highest level since April, as traders assessed the risk of renewed military strikes on Iran and further disruption around Gulf energy infrastructure. The benchmark later eased to just above US$116, still roughly 2.7% higher on the day.
The move matters to Asian businesses and investors because the region imports large volumes of oil and liquefied natural gas.
