Kuala Lumpur, 16 July 2026 – Apple has secured regulatory approval to introduce Apple Intelligence on iPhones in mainland China, removing a major barrier that had prevented the company from offering its latest artificial intelligence features in one of its most important markets.
China’s cyberspace regulator included Apple’s on-device generative AI service among a new group of registered providers. The approval places Apple alongside domestic smartphone manufacturers, including Huawei Technologies and Xiaomi, whose AI services were also cleared.
