PUTRAJAYA, 30 August 2025 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver his National Day ‘Amanat Perdana’ address today at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS), in what is expected to be a defining moment for Malaysia’s 68th Merdeka celebrations. The speech, scheduled for 11 a.m., is set against the backdrop of the country’s efforts to strengthen national unity, economic resilience, and its evolving place on the global stage.
Anwar described the address as more than a ceremonial tradition, framing it instead as an opportunity to honour the sacrifices of Malaysia’s forefathers while reigniting a spirit of patriotism among citizens. He is expected to highlight the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni”—a vision that emphasises civility, inclusiveness, and respect for the people—as the cornerstone of his government’s nation-building agenda.
The event at MAEPS is anticipated to draw between 4,000 and 5,000 attendees, representing a cross-section of Malaysian society. Civil servants, educators, students, members of the uniformed services, youth groups, entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and trade union representatives are all expected to be present, reflecting the broad social base Anwar hopes to inspire.
To ensure nationwide participation, the address will be broadcast live across all major platforms, including RTM, Media Prima, Astro Awani, Bernama TV, TVS, and TV AlHijrah. It will also be streamed on Facebook Live and other social media channels, allowing millions of Malaysians, both at home and abroad, to tune in.
The Prime Minister’s speech comes at a time when Malaysia faces mounting challenges, from global economic headwinds to domestic concerns over cost of living, governance reforms, and intercommunal harmony. By delivering his address on the eve of 31 August, Anwar aims to rally the nation around a shared sense of belonging and a renewed collective purpose, reinforcing the principles of the MADANI framework as a guidepost for Malaysia’s next chapter.
