Anwar Says It Is Arrogant to Exclude Any Race or Party From Government

Kuala Lumpur, 8 June 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has warned against political arrogance in deciding who should be included in government, saying Malaysia’s democratic mandate and multiracial foundations must be respected.

Anwar said it would be arrogant to exclude any race, community or political party from government participation, particularly in a country built on constitutional principles and social diversity. His remarks come at a politically sensitive time as parties prepare for upcoming state contests and public debate intensifies over representation, unity and the role of coalition politics in Malaysia.
