San Francisco, 2 September 2026 – Anthropic has signed a cloud-computing agreement valued at US$35 billion with Nvidia-backed Lambda for capacity at a Texas data centre, reinforcing the scale of capital being committed to generative-AI infrastructure. The project in Nueces County is being developed by Hut 8 and is expected to provide about 350 megawatts of capacity, linking model demand, advanced chips, power procurement and data-centre construction in one of the sector’s largest reported transactions.
The agreement is intended to bring additional Nvidia computing capacity online for Anthropic’s Claude products, including its fast-growing coding tools. It follows another major commitment disclosed recently: US$45 billion to rent AI cloud capacity from Nscale’s West Virginia campus. Together, the deals illustrate how frontier-model developers are securing multi-year access to infrastructure rather than relying solely on short-term cloud availability.
