Foxconn’s Q3 Revenue Hits Record on AI Demand but Falls Short of Market Forecast

By Katherine (Kay)2 min read

TAIWAN, 05 October 2025 – Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, posted record third-quarter revenue driven by surging demand for artificial intelligence (AI) products, though the figure missed market expectations and the company cautioned about the impact of exchange rate fluctuations.

The Taiwanese tech giant, officially known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., reported T$2.057 trillion (US$67.71 billion) in revenue for the July–September period, up 11% year-on-year. The result came in below the T$2.134 trillion SmartEstimate compiled by LSEG, which gives greater weight to forecasts from analysts with a strong track record.

Despite the shortfall, Foxconn described the result as “better than expected.” On a U.S. dollar basis, revenue rose 16.1% year-on-year, aided by strong AI-related orders. The company noted, however, that the Taiwan dollar’s 8% appreciation against the greenback this year had an adverse effect on reported figures.

AI Demand Fuels Growth, iPhone Sales Ease

Foxconn, a major assembler for Apple’s iPhones and a key supplier for Nvidia’s AI servers, said robust AI demand boosted its cloud and networking products division. Meanwhile, smart consumer electronics — which includes iPhones — saw a slight revenue decline, partly due to exchange rate pressures.

Revenue in September alone rose 14.2% year-on-year to T$837.1 billion, setting a record for the month.

Looking ahead, Foxconn expects operations to “maintain sequential quarterly growth” as AI server shipments continue to increase in the fourth quarter, supported by year-end holiday demand in major Western markets.

“However, the impact of the global political and economic situation and exchange rate fluctuations will need continued close monitoring,” the company said, without elaborating.

Market Outlook

Foxconn does not issue numerical forecasts and will release its full third-quarter earnings on November 12.

Shares of Foxconn (2317.TW) have gained 23% so far this year, outperforming the 16% rise in the broader Taiwan market index (.TWII). The stock closed 0.44% higher on Friday, ahead of the revenue announcement, compared to a 1.45% gain for the benchmark index.
