Kuala Lumpur, 2 October 2025 – Pantech Group Holdings Bhd says it expects to maintain a dividend yield of around 9 percent as its Klang manufacturing plant approaches full capacity utilisation, reinforcing its outlook for stable earnings amid cyclical headwinds.
Pantech’s management indicated that its Klang facility is running at near-maximum throughput, benefiting from steady demand in its pipes, valves, and fittings business. The production ramp is expected to support cash flows and allow the company to uphold its high-yield commitment even in softer markets.
While Pantech has held its “Buy” rating and target price at 89 sen in prior viewings, its ability to sustain such high yields depends heavily on operational efficiency, input cost control, and order book visibility. The company is also navigating a RM6.76 million tax demand from the Inland Revenue Board while managing margin pressures in slower segments.
Investor Insights for Asia
For income-seeking investors in Asia, a 9 percent yield is rare among industrial names. If Pantech can deliver consistency at that level, it may stand out among mid-caps. But high yield often carries risk: any production disruption, cost inflation, or demand dips could force cuts or dips in payout coverage.
Given the cyclical nature of construction, infrastructure, and industrial demand, Asian investors should treat Pantech’s yield premium as compensation for volatility. Its performance will be a useful barometer for industrial sentiment in Malaysia and the region, especially in the hardware, pipeline, and utilities supply chains.
