Pharmaniaga Acquires Logistics Facility in Penang to Boost Northern Operations

Penang, 19 September 2025 — Pharmaniaga Berhad has moved to enhance its logistics capabilities in northern Malaysia by acquiring a factory and office complex in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang, for RM30 million. The acquisition was made through its wholly owned subsidiary, Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd, which struck a Sale and Purchase Agreement with N.H. Development Sdn Bhd.

The property sits on a freehold plot of 10,919 square metres and includes a single-storey detached factory building and a double-storey office. The price was determined on a willing-buyer, willing-seller basis, backed by an independent valuation.

Pharmaniaga said the acquisition aligns with its obligations under the Concession Agreement signed with the Ministry of Health in January 2023, and forms part of its long-term strategy to expand its logistics and distribution network, especially in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.

The group added that the purchase, including planned upgrading works, will be financed using proceeds from its ongoing Regularisation Plan. The move is aimed at improving efficiency in its supply chain, reducing bottlenecks, and enhancing service levels to customers.

By adding this asset, Pharmaniaga hopes to better support its northern operations and ensure faster response times in warehousing, distribution, and delivery of its products. The acquisition is expected to generate long-term value for stakeholders, improved operational capacity and help Pharmaniaga meet rising logistics demands in health-care and pharmaceutical supply.
