Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 5 November 2026 – Preliminary laboratory analysis found water content below 0.05% in all 43 RON95 petrol samples covered by an initial report, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali told the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday. He said the findings indicated no significant water contamination in that batch, while testing of the remaining samples continued.

For motorists, fuel retailers and businesses dependent on vehicles, the result narrows one concern without closing the wider investigation. The first 43 water results should not be presented as a nationwide clearance of all petrol or proof of what caused individual vehicle faults.
