Petaling Jaya, 29 October 2026 – LPI Capital Bhd is expected to record a weaker fourth quarter as seasonal flood claims, elevated motor claims and lower investment income weigh on earnings, despite better performance in its fire insurance business. The insurer reported core net profit of RM97 million for the third quarter, taking its nine-month total to RM263 million, down 11% from a year earlier, according to figures cited in the report.
For shareholders, the issue is whether LPI Capital can offset claims inflation and the loss of investment income with stronger underwriting. The fourth-quarter outlook is an analyst assessment, not company guidance. The reported profit figures are results; expectations for claims, margins and valuation remain forecasts and should be treated separately.
