Nidec Audit Delay Risk Extends Pressure on Listing and Governance

Nidec’s existing audit disclaimer and exchange alert frame a reported risk that it may miss a month-end securities-report opinion deadline.

Tokyo, 28 October 2026 – Nidec Corporation may not obtain an auditor’s opinion on its annual securities report by the end of October, according to a report published Wednesday. The Japanese motor maker’s exchange listing is already under review: the Tokyo Stock Exchange placed it on special alert in October 2025 and gave it a year to improve internal controls or risk delisting. Nidec said it could not comment on the latest report because it was not based on a company announcement.

The possible delay matters to investors because the audit opinion and the exchange’s review are separate but connected tests of disclosure quality and governance. Nidec’s own September filing already disclosed a disclaimer of opinion on its financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2026. The latest report describes a possible further delay, not a new company-confirmed audit outcome or a delisting decision.
