London, 20 October 2026 – Large companies in the United States and United Kingdom spend an average 28% of their software budgets on vendor-driven upgrades, migrations and licensing changes they would not otherwise choose, according to a survey commissioned by software-maintenance provider Origina. The study covered more than 2,000 organisations and estimated the latest such change cost respondents an average US$12.87 million annually.
