Kuala Lumpur, 2 October 2026 – Bursa Malaysia rebounded in early trade on Friday, following a steadier performance on Wall Street, although analysts cautioned that higher US bond yields and oil prices could limit risk appetite. At 9.27am, the benchmark FBM KLCI was 5.37 points, or 0.33%, higher at 1,635.73, recovering part of the previous session’s weakness.

The opening improvement reflected modest gains in the United States. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.04% to 50,926.74, the S&P 500 advanced 0.20% to 7,666.48 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.04% to 26,871.60. The narrow increases offered regional markets a more stable lead, but they did not remove concerns about the cost of capital and the outlook for global growth.
