Kuala Lumpur, 30 September 2026 – Gamuda Bhd’s shares advanced in early trading after the construction and property group reported another record annual profit, putting attention on whether its large project backlog can translate into sustained earnings growth. At 10.05am on Wednesday, the stock was nine sen higher at RM5.07, with 18.09 million shares traded. The price move followed results for the financial year ended 31 July 2026, when profit attributable to shareholders reached RM1.052 billion, about 5% above the preceding year’s RM1.003 billion.
The distinction between reported profit and the wider operating story matters. Gamuda’s stock-exchange filing showed cumulative revenue of RM18.333 billion against RM15.970 billion a year earlier, while fourth-quarter revenue was RM5.757 billion compared with RM4.842 billion. The company’s construction order book was reported at RM61 billion. Those figures establish a substantial base of contracted work, but they do not guarantee how quickly projects will be executed, billed or converted into cash. Investors will be watching the margin and working-capital profile behind the headline value.
