George Town, 28 September 2026 – Penang’s chief minister has begun a United States investment and trade mission aimed at strengthening relationships with existing corporate investors and attracting new projects to the state. The state mission statement says Chow Kon Yeow and an InvestPenang delegation will meet companies and visit corporate headquarters between 28 September and 5 October. The delegation plans to present Penang’s latest industrial initiatives, including its Silicon Design @5km+ programme and ATE Campus, alongside infrastructure improvements and policy changes intended to facilitate projects. The target sectors include integrated-circuit design, advanced packaging, semiconductor equipment, medical devices and global business services.
