Gurun, 24 September 2026 – China-based LB Group has launched a Malaysian chemical-processing facility in Kedah representing a total investment of RM1 billion, adding a new industrial project to the Gurun Heavy Industrial Park. The expansion is being undertaken through LB Advanced Material Asia Sdn Bhd on a 24.32-hectare site. Phase one accounts for RM600 million of the stated investment. Those figures describe the project plan; they should not be confused with completed annual production or realised revenue.
LB Group manufactures titanium dioxide and other inorganic chemical materials used across industrial supply chains. Establishing more capacity in Malaysia can diversify its regional footprint and bring procurement, logistics and maintenance demand to local suppliers. The eventual economic effect depends on commissioning progress, workforce recruitment, export sales and the extent of domestic sourcing. A factory announcement is an investment milestone, not proof of full operating capacity.
