Singapore, 16 September 2026 – Grab has agreed to acquire a 60% controlling stake in Atome for US$1.49 billion in cash, expanding its financial-services platform across Southeast Asia. The proposed transaction gives Grab a larger presence in buy-now-pay-later, consumer credit and cards while increasing balance-sheet, integration and regulatory risk.

Atome operates in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand and has served about 25 million cumulative transacting users. Its products include instalment payments, cash loans, cards and digital lending. The deal remains subject to closing conditions and should not be treated as completed until approvals are secured.
