New York, 12 August 2026 – Wall Street closed lower on Tuesday as diminishing expectations for a US-Iran agreement renewed uncertainty over energy supplies, while declines in several large technology companies weighed on the major equity benchmarks.
The S&P 500 fell 0.32% to 7,728.20 points, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.60% to 26,445.45. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.34% to 53,791.85.
