Singapore Exports Jump 27.4% as AI Demand Drives Electronics Boom

Singapore, 11 August 2026 – Singapore’s non-oil domestic exports surged 27.4% year on year in the second quarter as global artificial-intelligence investment lifted demand for electronics, prompting authorities to raise the full-year trade outlook after the strongest first-half performance in 16 years.

The second-quarter increase accelerated from 9.6% growth in the first three months of 2026. Electronics exports rose 88.1%, extending a 57.8% first-quarter gain, while non-electronics shipments increased 8% after contracting 3.5% previously. For the first half, non-oil domestic exports expanded 18.6%, the best first-half result since 2010.
