Singapore, 10 August 2026 – Asian equities moved mostly higher after gains on Wall Street, but rising oil prices and uncertainty over the Strait of Hormuz kept inflation and monetary-policy risks firmly in view.
Softer United States employment data supported global equities by reducing expectations of an imminent Federal Reserve rate increase. Lower Treasury yields and a weaker dollar improved the backdrop for Asian risk assets, although investors remained cautious ahead of US inflation figures.
