Beijing, 6 August 2026 – China has launched a formal cybersecurity review into products sold by Palo Alto Networks, placing the United States-based security software provider under heightened regulatory scrutiny in one of Asia’s largest technology markets.
The Cybersecurity Review Office under the Cyberspace Administration of China announced the investigation on Thursday. The regulator cited national security laws and the need to safeguard critical information infrastructure, although it did not provide further details on the products being examined, the review’s expected duration or its potential commercial consequences.
