Singapore, 4 August 2026 – Gold steadied near US$4,030 an ounce as investors balanced the prospect of diplomatic progress in the Middle East against persistent inflation risks and the possibility that US interest rates could remain elevated for longer.

Bullion entered Tuesday’s Asian session after a modest decline in the preceding trading day. Spot gold had eased about 0.3%, while US futures also closed lower, leaving the market within the broad range that has contained prices for more than a month.
