Kuala Lumpur, 3 August 2026 – Bursa Malaysia closed marginally higher on Monday as late buying in selected heavyweight stocks helped the benchmark index recover from intraday weakness, even as the broader market remained cautious amid geopolitical uncertainty and renewed concerns over global technology valuations.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI gained 0.83 point to finish at 1,725.73, compared with 1,724.90 at the previous close. The benchmark moved between 1,719.47 and 1,729.72 during the session, reflecting an unsettled trading environment before buying interest emerged near the closing bell.
