Kuala Lumpur, 31 July 2026 – Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad has issued RM720 million in blue sukuk, extending Malaysia’s Islamic capital-market leadership into financing associated with water infrastructure. The transaction gives institutional investors a labelled fixed-income instrument while increasing expectations for transparent reporting on how proceeds support eligible assets and measurable water outcomes.
The RM720 million issuance amount comes from the selected reporting source. PAAB’s published materials also show that the national water-asset company has access to a government-guaranteed Islamic medium-term notes programme with an overall limit of RM20 billion. The new issuance should be assessed within that wider financing structure rather than as an isolated borrowing.
