Cupertino, United States, 28 July 2026 – Apple is introducing a device-leasing programme backed by Klarna, offering selected iPhones from US$17.99 a month and extending the model to iPads, Macs and Apple Watches. The initiative lowers the visible monthly cost of premium hardware while shifting more customers from outright ownership towards recurring payments and regular upgrades.
The programme is structured more like a vehicle lease than a conventional instalment loan. Customers can return a device, keep it by exercising a purchase option or move to a newer model after meeting the relevant payment conditions. iPhone and Apple Watch terms generally run for 24 months, while Mac and iPad arrangements can extend to 36 months.
