Gold Slips as Firm Dollar Shifts Focus to Federal Reserve

New York, 28 July 2026 – Gold prices moved lower on Tuesday as the US dollar remained near a one-month high, reducing demand for bullion ahead of the Federal Reserve’s closely watched monetary policy decision.

Spot gold declined 0.5% to US$4,056.03 an ounce by 0110 GMT, while US gold futures for August delivery fell by the same margin to US$4,056.70. The pullback reflected growing caution among investors as markets reassessed the probability that US interest rates could remain elevated for longer.
