AMD Plans Up to US$5 Billion Anthropic Investment in Major AI Chip Deal

Santa Clara, 22 July 2026 – Advanced Micro Devices is reportedly preparing to invest as much as US$5 billion in Anthropic under a major chip and infrastructure agreement that could generate tens of billions of dollars in server demand.

The agreement covers up to two gigawatts of computing capacity powered by AMD’s next-generation Instinct MI450 artificial intelligence accelerators. Initial deployments are expected to begin during the first half of 2027.
