Seoul, 14 July 2026 – Samsung Electronics reclaimed the top position in the global smartphone market during the second quarter of 2026, outperforming Apple in a challenging period marked by weakening consumer demand, higher component costs and ongoing supply constraints.
The South Korean technology giant returned to the number one position as shipments of its flagship Galaxy S26 series and refreshed Galaxy A-series smartphones gained traction across key markets. Strong demand for premium devices, combined with improved mid-range offerings, helped Samsung strengthen its global market share despite an overall contraction in smartphone shipments.
