Singapore, 24 June 2026 – Tokenised shares in private companies are emerging as a potential new frontier in capital markets, as global banks and digital-market infrastructure providers explore ways to give investors access to private companies before they go public.
The model seeks to solve one of the biggest challenges in private markets: liquidity. Traditionally, investors in private companies often have to wait for an initial public offering, merger, secondary sale or other liquidity event before they can exit their positions. Tokenisation could offer a more flexible route by representing private company shares as digital securities recorded on blockchain-based infrastructure.
