BNM and Securities Commission Align Priorities to Strengthen Malaysia’s Global Islamic Finance Leadership

Kuala Lumpur, 23 June 2026 – Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia have convened the inaugural meeting of the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre Advisory Panel, marking a coordinated push to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a global Islamic finance marketplace and international gateway for Shariah-compliant capital.

The advisory panel has been established as an inter-agency consultation platform to support the next phase of Malaysia’s Islamic finance development. Its role is to bring together policymakers, regulators, institutional investors and industry leaders to sharpen the country’s international Islamic finance strategy and improve execution across public and private-sector initiatives.
