Kuala Lumpur, 29 May 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on media practitioners to continue upholding truth, integrity and accountability, stressing that responsible journalism remains vital in safeguarding public trust at a time when information moves faster than ever across digital platforms.
His message comes as Malaysia marks National Journalists’ Day, or HAWANA, an annual celebration recognising the role of journalists and media organisations in shaping public understanding, supporting informed debate and strengthening the bridge between the people, institutions and government.
