SC Strengthens Public Market Framework With Revised Market Segmentation Rules

Kuala Lumpur, 28 May 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia has introduced targeted enhancements to the country’s primary market framework through revised Equity Guidelines, aiming to improve access to public listings while sharpening the role and differentiation of Malaysia’s market segments.

The revised guidelines, released together with the SC’s Response Paper, follow a public consultation on the market segmentation review that concluded in December 2025. The adopted proposals for the Main Market will take effect on 3 June 2026.
