Minister Calls for Update on Malaysia’s ‘Corporate Mafia’ Probe as Governance Questions Persist

Kuala Lumpur, 5 May 2026 – Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has urged the Inspector-General of Police to clarify the status of investigations into allegations of “corporate mafia” activities linked to officials from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, renewing public attention on one of Malaysia’s most sensitive governance controversies.

Gobind said it has been nearly two months since the Cabinet expressed concern and called for a full investigation into the allegations. He called for greater transparency, including clarification on whether individuals named in earlier reports had been questioned and what further steps authorities intend to take.
