KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 14): Catcha Digital Bhd has announced plans to acquire a 60% stake in trade show organiser One International Exhibition Sdn Bhd for RM11.38 million in cash.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the move will complement its existing exhibition-focused subsidiary, expanding its reach into agriculture and construction event segments.
βThis complementary expansion allows the Catcha Digital Group to penetrate new industry verticals and client bases, strengthening its value proposition in the digital media and event management space,β it said.
One International is known for Agri Malaysia, an agricultural technology exhibition, and co-organises the MBAM OneBuild construction-and-infrastructure expo with the Master Builders Association Malaysia, in which it holds a 49% joint venture stake.
This acquisition follows Catcha Digitalβs purchase of a 70% stake in Tastefully Malaysia Sdn Bhd in June, which specialises in food-related exhibitions for both business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets. With the addition of One International and Tastefully, Catcha Digital has announced seven acquisitions over the past nine months.
Owned by industry veteran Lim Kean Boon, One International recorded a profit after tax exceeding RM2 million on revenue of RM4.4 million. Lim has guaranteed a net profit of RM5.9 million over two years following the completion of the deal.
βThe acquisition provides Catcha Digital with immediate access to a resilient, high-margin sector backed by established intellectual properties and proven operational capabilities,β the company said in a separate statement.
