Beijing, 22 May 2026 – Xiaomi Corp has introduced a performance version of its YU7 electric sport utility vehicle, deepening its push into China’s competitive electric vehicle market as its core smartphone business faces pressure from rising memory chip costs.
The new YU7 GT strengthens Xiaomi’s ambition to build a larger automotive business around its technology ecosystem, combining electric vehicles, smartphones, smart-home devices and connected software. The model is positioned as a sportier variant of the YU7 SUV, with reports indicating output of up to 1,000 horsepower and a driving range of about 705 kilometres on a full charge.
