Vietnamese Companies Stay Upbeat as Input Costs Test Fourth-Quarter Margins

Vietnamese manufacturers and builders remain confident about fourth-quarter demand, while material costs and working-capital pressure test earnings quality.

Hanoi, 8 October 2026 – Vietnamese manufacturers and construction companies entered the fourth quarter with broadly positive expectations, even as raw-material costs, financing access and unpaid bills threatened margins. The survey evidence points to continued commercial momentum, but it also shows that headline activity can coexist with significant pressure on working capital and profitability.

Among more than 6,000 manufacturing and processing companies surveyed, 83.9% expected business conditions to improve or remain stable. Expectations were similarly constructive for demand, with 85.6% anticipating stable or higher new orders and 85% expressing the same view about export orders. The figures support Vietnam’s role as a regional production base linked to electronics, consumer goods and diversified supply chains.
