Hangzhou, 7 August 2026 – Chinese humanoid robotics pioneer Unitree Robotics has set the stage for a pivotal test of investor enthusiasm across Asian equity markets, pricing its initial public offering on Shanghai’s STAR Market at 150.80 yuan per share. Seeking to raise 6.1 billion yuan ($900 million) at a market valuation of approximately 61 billion yuan ($9.04 billion), the listing marks a historic milestone as mainland China’s first publicly traded maker of humanoid robots. The offering has drawn high-profile strategic backing from AI developer DeepSeek, alongside state-backed entities and domestic technology leaders, highlighting the strategic convergence of artificial intelligence software and physical automation.
Under the listing terms disclosed ahead of subscription opening on 10 August, Unitree is issuing 40.45 million new shares, representing 10 percent of its enlarged capital. The pricing reflects an ambitious valuation, carrying a price-to-earnings ratio of 219.23 times, significantly above the broader robotics industry average of 38.56 times. Despite the premium, institutional demand for strategic allocations reached its maximum threshold. DeepSeek’s parent entity, Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., secured 933,400 shares worth 140.8 million yuan ($20.8 million) subject to a 36-month lock-up period, participating alongside strategic investors such as Tencent, PetroChina, and China Southern Power Grid.
