KUALA LUMPUR, 3 November 2025 — Sunway Property has consolidated its Singapore operations under a new banner, Sunway MCL, following the group’s S$738.7 million (RM2.42 billion) acquisition of property developer MCL Land.

The rebranded entity marks a strategic move to strengthen Sunway’s foothold in Singapore’s high-value residential market, with nine ongoing projects collectively carrying an attributable gross development value (GDV) of S$4.5 billion (RM14.9 billion). These developments span 4,937 units across the city-state, including flagship names such as ELTA, Nava Grove, Tembusu Grand, and The Continuum.

“The establishment of Sunway MCL marks an important milestone in Sunway’s growth journey,” said Datin Paduka Sarena Cheah, Executive Deputy Chair of Sunway Group. “Singapore has always been a key market for us, and this step reinforces our long-term commitment to building sustainable communities that create lasting value.”

A New Chapter Built on Legacy and Partnership

The rebranding integrates MCL Land’s six-decade heritage in Singapore’s residential sector with Sunway’s 50 years of experience as one of Malaysia’s leading property developers. Together, they form a platform aimed at delivering sustainable, mixed-use urban communities across the region.

At the helm of the newly formed entity is Lee Tong Voon, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway MCL, under the oversight of Chung Soo Kiong, Managing Director of Sunway Property.

“Sunway MCL carries forward a six-decade legacy of premium residential communities built on craftsmanship, care and connection,” Lee said. “Our focus is on creating homes that embody timeless elegance and enduring warmth, while ensuring long-term value for residents and investors alike.”

Among its portfolio, ELTA, an award-winning twin-tower residence in Clementi, stands out for its 39-storey towers offering panoramic views of the city and the Pandan Reservoir.

Expanding Footprint Across Borders

Beyond Singapore, the acquisition also includes MCL Land’s Malaysian assets, such as development land banks in Wangsa Maju and the Forest Heights township in Seremban, along with the Wangsa Walk Mall, which offers 330,000 sq ft of net lettable space.

These additions further cement Sunway’s position as a regional master community developer, strengthening its Malaysian base while extending its influence across Southeast Asia.

Sunway Property’s cross-border portfolio also includes major developments in Johor, such as the 2,000-acre Sunway City Iskandar Puteri township near the Second Link, and the upcoming Bukit Chagar RTS transit-oriented development at the First Link, both of which underscore the group’s integrated approach to sustainable, connected living.
