Singapore, 9 August 2026 – Singapore designer Faezah Shaharuddin is turning Malay cultural memory into a global collectible-furniture proposition, using familiar references such as onde-onde, agar and biscuits to build a distinctive design language for Studio Kallang.
Based between Singapore and New York, Shaharuddin has moved the studio beyond a local craft label into the international collectible-design circuit. Its furniture and objects have appeared at Milan Design Week and are represented through galleries and marketplaces including Galerie Philia, Adorno, The Oblist and 1stDibs. The commercial appeal rests on a clear point of differentiation: Southeast Asian cultural references are treated as contemporary luxury rather than decorative nostalgia.
