Singapore, 25 September 2026 – A Singaporean woman has been charged over six allegedly unpermitted public assemblies at Merlion Park and Anderson Bridge, placing the city-state’s public-order rules back in focus. Ng Chye Huay, 62, is accused of taking part in gatherings supporting Falun Gong between October 2024 and February 2026. She disputes all six charges and intends to plead not guilty. The allegations remain to be tested in court.

Those distinctions matter: participation in a spiritual group and compliance with assembly rules are separate questions under the reported facts.
