Kuala Lumpur, 28 April 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia has launched the River Flooding Adaptation & Resilience Challenge, or RIFAR Challenge, a nationwide youth-led initiative aimed at strengthening awareness, innovation and financing solutions for Malaysia’s river resilience.
The challenge invites university students to develop ideas and practical interventions to address the growing threat of river flooding, an issue that has become increasingly important as climate risks place pressure on communities, infrastructure and economically vital corridors across the country.
