Ringgit Edges Higher Against US Dollar As Markets Await Federal Reserve Direction

Kuala Lumpur, 27 April 2026 – The ringgit opened slightly stronger against the US dollar on Monday, although broader currency sentiment remained cautious as traders stayed on the sidelines ahead of the United States Federal Reserve’s policy meeting later this week.

At 8.14am, the ringgit stood at 3.9610/9680 against the greenback, compared with 3.9630/9670 at Friday’s close, reflecting a marginal improvement in the local note amid subdued regional market conditions.
