RIFAR Challenge Awards Youth-Led Solutions for Malaysia’s Climate Resilience

Kuala Lumpur, 30 July 2026 – The Securities Commission Malaysia has concluded the River Flooding Adaptation & Resilience University Challenge, awarding RM57,000 in prizes to student-led solutions addressing flood mitigation, river health and climate resilience.

Launched in April, the RIFAR Challenge attracted approximately 400 students from 46 universities in Malaysia and overseas. The concluding showcase brought together about 250 participants representing government bodies, financial institutions, universities and the climate sector.
