Beijing, 24 July 2026 – The People’s Bank of China has delivered its largest net medium-term liquidity injection in five months, reinforcing an accommodative monetary stance as policymakers seek to support bank lending and stabilise economic growth amid weak domestic demand.
The central bank conducted 500 billion yuan in one-year medium-term lending facility operations. With 400 billion yuan of existing funds maturing during the month, the operation resulted in a net liquidity injection of 100 billion yuan, equivalent to approximately US$14.7 billion.
