Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Joins Trump’s China Trip as AI Chip Access Takes Centre Stage

Beijing, 13 May 2026 – Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang has joined US President Donald Trump’s visit to China as a last-minute addition, placing artificial intelligence chips and technology access at the centre of a high-stakes diplomatic and trade mission between the world’s two largest economies.

Huang was seen boarding Air Force One during a stopover in Alaska, after earlier reports suggested that he had not been included in the initial delegation. His late addition is significant because Nvidia has become one of the most important companies in the global AI supply chain, while China remains a major but increasingly restricted market for advanced semiconductors.
