KUALA LUMPUR: Nine Malaysian public-listed companies have secured a spot on Forbes Asia’s 2025 “Best Under A Billion” list, which recognises the top 200 small and mid-sized enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region with annual revenues of under US$1 billion (RM4.23 billion).
The Malaysian companies featured are Able Global Bhd, Crescendo Corp Bhd, Frontken Corp Bhd, Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Hup Seng Industries Bhd, ITMAX System Bhd, Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd, Pekat Group Bhd, and Scientex Bhd.
In a statement on Tuesday, Forbes Asia noted that overall growth in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to remain sluggish due to ongoing trade tensions. Despite this, the 200 companies selected have either sustained performance or managed to grow amid these challenges.
The list spans a wide range of industries, including financial services, beauty, electric vehicles, renewable energy, and data centres. Notably, firms in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and data centres have enjoyed significant momentum in recent years.
The Malaysian representatives mainly operate in technology, automation, oil and gas, property development, and food processing.
Since its inception in 2002, the “Best Under A Billion” list has featured notable Malaysian names such as IOI Properties Group Bhd—which also appeared in the Forbes US Global List in 2004—and AirAsia.
