Kuala Lumpur, 30 September 2026 – Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd’s international unit has entered a collaboration agreement with Saudi Arabia’s RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company to explore a transport-oriented mixed-use development in Makkah. The project carries an indicative gross development value of about SAR21 billion, reported at approximately RM22.86 billion. That number describes the potential value of completed development, not cash committed by MRCB or revenue already secured.
The proposed site lies within King Salman Gate, which RUA AlHaram AlMakki is master-developing. The concept would integrate a public bus terminal with residential, hospitality, commercial and retail components. This combination fits MRCB’s experience in transit-oriented projects, where transport access supports footfall and property demand. It also raises a wide range of design, operating and phasing questions that must be resolved before any financial contribution can be estimated.
