Moon-Tech and Swift Cold Chain Partner to Build Malaysia’s First Green-Certified Cold Chain Logistics Hub

Selangor, Malaysia, September 4, 2025 — In a landmark move to strengthen sustainable logistics infrastructure, Moon Environment Technology Co. Ltd (MOON-TECH), China’s leading industrial refrigeration solutions provider, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Swift Cold Chain Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Swift Haulage Berhad. The collaboration will see the development of a cutting-edge cold storage project at the upcoming Shah Alam International Logistics Hub (SAILH).

The signing ceremony, officiated by Tan Nee Phing, Chief Executive Officer of Swift Cold Chain, and Zhao Baoguo, Chief Executive Officer of MOON-TECH, was attended by senior executives from both companies. The event underscored their shared commitment to advancing green innovation and accelerating sustainable cold chain solutions across Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

Malaysia’s First Green-Certified Logistics Hub

SAILH, slated to begin operations in the first quarter of 2026, is positioned to become Malaysia’s first green-certified logistics hub and among the largest in ASEAN. The flagship facility will offer seamless connectivity to major transport corridors and industrial zones, enabling it to serve as a central node for cold chain distribution.

The new facility, with capacity for 10,000 pallets, will adopt advanced natural refrigerant technologies such as ammonia and carbon dioxide, ensuring zero environmental harm while delivering world-class performance and energy efficiency. The initiative aligns with global decarbonisation trends, reinforcing Malaysia’s role in building sustainable and future-ready logistics systems.

Executive Perspectives

Zhao Baoguo, CEO of MOON-TECH, described the collaboration as more than just a project:

“This is a strategic alliance between two industry leaders. Together, we are setting a new standard for international cooperation in the low-carbon era. This intelligent, efficient, and eco-friendly facility will meet Malaysia’s growing logistics needs while symbolising China-Malaysia friendship and collaboration.”

Tan Nee Phing, CEO of Swift Cold Chain, echoed this sentiment:

“Our partnership with MOON-TECH reflects our investment in capability, credibility, and competitiveness. By leveraging their proven refrigeration technology, we will enhance reliability and efficiency across our network. This project is a journey to set new benchmarks for the cold chain industry in Malaysia and beyond.”

Long-Term Collaboration

Under the agreement, MOON-TECH will deploy its top talent, technologies, and resources to ensure the facility’s successful and timely delivery, promising compliance with the highest global standards for safety and quality. Both companies see this partnership as the foundation for deeper, long-term cooperation, anchored in sustainability, innovation, and mutual growth.

As Malaysia’s demand for cold chain logistics continues to grow—driven by the food, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce sectors—this partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s logistics future while advancing ESG (environmental, social, governance) priorities.
