San Francisco, 4 June 2026 – Meta Platforms has repeatedly pushed back the release of its new artificial intelligence model API for developers, raising fresh questions over execution as the technology giant races to compete with OpenAI, Google and Anthropic in the increasingly crowded AI infrastructure market.
The delayed model, known as Muse Spark, was announced in April and is expected to be made available to developers through an application programming interface, or API. An API would allow external developers and businesses to connect their own software products to Meta’s AI model, turning the model from an internal technology asset into a potential commercial platform.
