Maybank Strengthens Tier 2 Capital with RM4.8 Billion Sukuk

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 11 August 2026 – Malayan Banking Berhad has completed RM4.8 billion in Subordinated Sukuk Murabahah across four series, strengthening the group’s Tier 2 regulatory capital and expanding its long-term Shariah-compliant funding base.

The issuance was completed under Maybank’s sukuk programme, which has been enlarged to a nominal ceiling of RM30 billion from RM10 billion previously. The four series carry different maturities and profit rates, allowing the bank to diversify its repayment profile rather than concentrating the transaction in a single maturity.
